About Us and Our Services
We use our experience and knowledge to assist today's busy OTR driver.

Having been a driver and now a "tax guy" for over 13 years, my goal is to help you earn and keep for yourself and your family, as much money as possible.  Whether as a company driver or Owner Operator, I will help you know where your income goes and what you can do to maximize your profits.  With today's rising prices it's  important now, more than ever, to stay on top of your expenses.  This is true for company drivers as well as Owner Operators.

I also have other services available through affiliations with other providers who understand that drivers could use their help.  Let me show you how we can help.

The Company

OTR was founded to help America's driver.  I am responsible for hundreds of tax returns yearly and have been doing this for over 13 years. I have developed and taught classes specifically aimed at truckers tax reurns.

I am also the moderator of the "Taxes" fourm on Truckersroad, a family-friendly web site for and about trucking.  Join the discussions at:

Just a Few Examples

Showed 'RP', a company driver, what he needed to keep track of during the year and increased his 2007 tax refund by more than $450 over his 2006 refund.

Was talking with 'JS' a JB Hunt driver at the Kingdom City Petro and he told me he just takes the standard deduction, he's single, the company pays for all his truck expenses and there's just not enough to mess with.  He was getting back almost $200.  Finally convinced him to let us look at it and we amended his return to get him over $700, additional.

We work with owner operators equally to keep them informed about what they can do to increase their profits and improve their tax situation.

Showed 'GJ' how he could increase his margins by cutting down on idling hours in good weather and he increased his mpg by almost 1/2 mpg.  (At $3.75 per gallon, times 145000 miles that adds up!)  Also worked with him to keep better track of receipts and undocumented expenses, like coin laundry, and showed him how to add hundreds of dollars in expenses for tax time.

What We Do

Free Driver's In-Year Review

Yes I said FREE!  Read on...

Many drivers feel they don't need bookkeeping services, and that may be true.  But one service we offer is the In-Year Review.  I will review the different aspects of your overall picture, other incomes and non-driving issues that affect taxes, to insure you are minimizing your tax liability.  Best of all is the price.  I'm so confident I can be of service to you, this service starts at FREE!  If you decide my full service can help, obviously fees will apply.  But to start, there's no charge and no obligation for anything further! (except to be willing to save money!)

Tax Return Review

Are you sure that return you just filed is correct?
Do you hear other drivers talking about getting more back than you?  I can check your return over, be sure you got what you should be and also guarantee it, even though someone else did it!  If the IRS sends you a letter asking about some part of it, I will assist in responding as part of the guarantee.  If there is any penalty or interest, that will also be taken care of.  If I see a way to improve upon what was filed, I can amend it to get you that better refund.  You work too hard to give your money away!!!  Contact me foer additional detials.

Company Drivers

Did You Pay Too Much Taxes Last Year?
Many Company Drivers believe that they don't qualify for enough deductions to make it worth while to itemize deductions on their tax return or need any kind of bookkeeping.  This can be an expensive error!!!  If you are a company driver and single, and you filed a 1040EZ or 1040A, then you paid too much!..  If you are married and filed the 1040EZ or 1040A, you still probably paid too much.  If you question this call and I can explain.  Also as for bookkeeping, I have shown many drivers that even though they are company drivers and the company pays all the truck expenses, there are still many items to keep track of so that you can get a larger tax retfund when you file.  They often feel it is easier to spend a few dollars and have someone else keep track.  Let me show you how.

Owner Operators

For Owner Operators we will provide monthly, quarterly and annual statements showing true income for the truck. We will provide you with "quarterly" estimated tax filing information.  And again, we will work with and for you to be sure you are documenting every available expense so that you know how much of what you earn goes to you and your family as well as maximizing your tax refund.  We will provide real information to help you run your business, like cost per mile.

For all drivers, we provide pre-addressed, postage paid mailers for sending information to us on a timely basis.

Most importantly, we listen and communicate with you!
